Our 2026 festival is almost upon us, this year we are open noon till 11pm from Monday 7th September until Saturday 12th September. We have a lot of changes this year to make the event even more amazing, we hope you’ll love them as much as we do.

Our aim is to provide a quality choice of beers in a relaxed environment for the people of our village and our many visitors to enjoy. We are not just about the beer, we have amazing food from the Red Lion pub, Sam’s Thai is returning and traditional beer festival food from the Chop Shop. For those of you who have been before we hand pick amazing bands for the week.

PREVIEW EVENT: We have an exclusive ticket only preview event on Sunday 6th September from 5pm – 7pm. This is limited to just 100 tickets + sponsors. This makes HBF the only* UK real ale festival open for 7 days (*probably!). Tickets are £25 (£20 for 2025 helpers) and include your glass, entry for the week, 6 * 1/3 pints, 20% off beer at the preview event, snacks and the chance to try the beers before anyone else. As ever, the Festival is underpinned by a dedicated committee who work tirelessly throughout the year and continually throughout the week to ensure that everything is served to perfection. People who serve behind the bar VOLUNTEER their services to ensure that ALL proceeds from the Festival are donated to local good causes.

Our 2025 festival, our 25th, ran from Monday 1st till Saturday 6th September. We raised a massive total of £29,500, this takes the combined total across all of our 24 events to just over £150,000! Who would have thought that when the “Histon Summer Beer Festival” first took place in 1997 it would become so longstanding and successful! The original programme was a double side A4 sheet advertising just 24 real ales and 3 ciders! in 2025 we had 60+ ales and 20 ciders (as we still do for 2026).
